Welcome to the first issue of Hirings & Firings. Of late there's been a surge in the amount talent in GCW & yeah! It's a great thing to have new talents coming in but then again we also have quite an amount of no shows & people getting fired, and that.... is a bad thing!

Jeff Hardy, Boris B
ojevic & Shane McMahon were all given a warning for constantly no showing! The last straw came on March the 3rd 2003, on Mauling when they were given one last chance in the 15 men Battle Royale & the stipulation is that if they lose? They will be fired! And we all saw what happen on Mauling... Well these three men are history.. Sad thing thought, we at GCW Monthly has our money on Jeff Hardy as a future top star! Wild Will Wentura was also fired after failing to show up for his first match!

Also Everest, Komodo Dragon, Hollywood Hogan, Brock Lesnar,
The Climax" Clyde Maxwell & Jake Steiner have all been released by the GCW. We wished them all the luck!

Anyway on to some new signings!

Team Angle: We did a feature on Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas in the first issue of GCW Monthly & we toted them as one of the upcoming tag teams in the GCW! Will Team Angle finally win some gold under the tutelage of former GCW Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle? It all remains to be seem!

Astaroth & Big John: Now these two newcomers came out of nowhere, and frankly speaking, they reminded me of the Oddities! I mean look at Astaroth! He stands at 7'5"ft? And weighs in at 265lbs? And what about Big John? BIG is certainly not the word to describe this 4'10"ft, 240lbs man! Nevertheless these two men were impressive in the 15 men Battle Royale, but will they be able to achieve more?

Tommy "The Terror" Edmond: The half brother of Vision Black member, Spike has joined the GCW & Vision Black. Standing at 6ft, 221lbs, this cruiserweight, high flying sensation has yet to make an impact in the GCW but dun write him off as yet! Rumours on the net tote him as the next RVD!

"The Unholy Altarboy" Scorpio: Hailing from Buffalo, NY. Scorpio was the undefeated Pro X Wrestling Cruiser X Champion. It's seems as if this man had some connections with the current GCW Television Champion, Rix Usher. GCW Monthly tried, but Rix Usher wasn't available for comments. Scorpio may have lost his first match in GCW, but don't write him out as yet!

Blaze: The man who gave Scorpio his first defeat in GCW, Blaze. Not much is known about this man except that he uses quite an awesome chokeslam as his finisher & that he's 6'11"ft, 324lbs.

Depth Charge: This young man had an impressive showing on March the 3rd in the 15 men Battle Royale! Standing in at 6'3"ft, 219lbs. This high flying superstar is almost like Rey Mysterio Jr without the mask! Look out for this young man as he forms a tandem with The Rocket!

The Rocket: We may have lost Jeff Hardy but we signed yet another high flying cruiserweight superstar, The Rocket! From Parts Unknown, this high flying sensation forms a tandem with Depth Charge! Will these two young stars become the next Hardy Boyz?

Sabu: Sabu's was in various promotions all over the country before GCW Head of Talent Relations, Mark Ward Sr signed him to GCW. One of the most extreme & hardcore wrestlers in this business, expect Sabu to make a impact soon!

The Flanagans: Diamond Darren Flanagan & "Hitman" Keith Flanagan. The Flanagans have been making some waves since joining the GCW. There's a saying, strength in numbers! Will 2003 be the year for the Flanagan brothers?

Derrick Farrell: Mark Ward Sr toted this young man as a contender for the GCW Television Championship! Will Derrick Farrell ends Rix Usher's reign as GCW Television Champion? And should Rix be afraid?

Goldberg: The WWE claims that they had the hottest free agent in this business today, Big Poppa Pump, Scott Steiner! Well we beg to differ, we've got Da Man! Bill Goldberg's officially in the GCW now & though he lose in the 15 men Battle Royale, expect him to shake off that ring rust & be a top contender in the GCW!

Life Of The Party: Shane Boswell & Matt Grove. Hailing from the Jordan Williams Wrestling School, these two young men are constantly drunk! Well, if Life Of The Party wants to get some gold soon, they had better sober up abit!

Rulers Of The Ring: Also from the Jordan Williams Wrestling School, Rick Meadows & Ken Hoight reminds you of the Steiner Brothers & could be the only team to be able to match Team Angle in terms of Amateur Wrestling skills. You see, Rick & Ken are both 4 times All Americans in wrestling!

Omar King: This young man hailing from Kingston, Jamaica is one of the latest to join GCW & he together with the Excellent 4 has been causing some havoc here in the GCW!

"Superstar" Rob Anderson: This man has wrestled in Japan, Canada & almost all over the world & now he's a part of GCW! On a recent edition of Mauling, Rob Anderson, Omar King & Rulers Of The Ring formed an alliance known as The Excellent 4! Will they give The Perfect Connection & The Corporation a run for their money?

"Too Sweet" Travis Smith: This young man has been very impressive so far, his promos have that kinda intensity & between him & Derrick Farrell, these two men might just be the next contenders for Rix Usher's GCW Television Championship!

Mason Storm: This man is a mystery. He's been in the GCW for a month now & we've yet to see him do a proper promo. Is this man still intending to stay in the GCW? My advice to him is to start doing his promo soon...or get out of commission!

Homeless Henry: The Homeless One put up a fight but fall short as he was defeated by Travis Smith in his debut match. Will the former Owner of the WRE rise to the occasion again?

Paul "The Rage" Johnson: This man is making an impact here in the GCW, a former professional boxer, of late Paul Johnson have been showing a mean streak! Will he be the next Battlin Ben?

The Patriot: Now this is a good one! Finally a "Superhero" opponent for The Hurricane! Will The Patriot be able to take The Hurricane's place as the resident Superhero?

Captain Obvious: The Patriot's sidekick in the tag team, The Freedom Fighters! Do we see the return of The Hurri Squad?

Cosmic Jester: Cosmic Jester is a zany man, that's all i have to say!

Caddilal: Together with Lilandra, these two ladies are the latest additions to the GCW Women's Division. Will either of these two beautiful ladies make an impact and should Mistress Payne finally be worried that her title reign MIGHT be coming to an end?

Lilandra: As above.

Trish Stratus: All i can say about this young lady is she looks gorgeous & also like Vanessa Sambora Williams! Will this cause a huge conflict between the Williams?

Victoria: The Psycho Bitch has finally come to the GCW & together with Spike, they seem intent on making Vision Black a force to be reckon with in the GCW!

Well this is it, if i've left out any new talents, please let me know at gcwmagazine2003@yahoo.com & the new wrestler will be added in in next month's edition. Till next week, this is Gary Lim.
